The Novel without the Main Words

Everyone has a chapter in their lives that they never want to talk about. They always think that that chapter would make them vulnerable in front of all the people.

Sometimes people understand that we need our personal space and that we don’t want to share our secrets and they leave us alone. The rest of the times, some people bug us too much, and we end up having an outburst. It may be of fear, sadness, anger, despair or sometimes we just can’t handle our emotions, and a combo comes out. Some of my readers may have already experienced that outburst. If you haven’t, you will.

The people who leave us alone, the people who bug us, just want to know what is wrong with us and what is keeping us troubled. So when we have an outburst, for them it’s like skipping an entire chapter in a big, fat book. So they will always be a bit confused.

But it is always the quietened hearts that make the loudest rumbles ~⚡️

Speaking of books, if you all, my fellow readers, are novel-readers, you’d have no problem connecting to the lines written above.

Kly grew up watching films which were far more mature than his age and he understood them well. That was his childhood. On attaining teenage, he made a subtle transition from watching movies twenty-four hours a day to becoming a desirous novel - reader.

One of his habits was to find the exact words from the title of the movies and books. Some of us might not exactly focus on finding the words of the title, but our brain does tell us to grin or smile or put us into thought when we read or listen to those words in the book or the movie. And some of us are just like Kly and me! No book or a movie had ever disappointed him in this practice of his.

He appreciated reading books much more than he respected watching films. He believed that books offered us more mystery than the movies.

One fact that he hated was that films would always show the rise of the main character in a time-lapse. But the fall? Whoa, that’d be like an hour a time. He believed that the good times should not just roll. They should deserve the respect that they rightfully deserve and should be given the same amount of time as the fall. We all want that in our lives too, right? ~ ⚡️

One day Kly comes across an ancient book, just lying under his Father’s cupboard, waiting to be read.

The book’s name was “Me Alegra que hayas buscado esto.” The name was Spanish but flicking through a couple of pages, he found out that the main text was in English.
Being a voracious reader, his next best toy was this ancient book which he wanted to get heavily addicted to.

It was a thick book but it took him two weeks to read it. He was lost inside this book for those two weeks. For the first time, he had not found the words that were in the title.

Most of us would go like, “So? It’s not such a big deal. He wouldn't commit suicide for this, would he?”
I would've agreed with all of you, but you got to understand that since a child, his only priceless possessions were movies and books. And finding the title in the movie or the book itself was the only excitement that Kly would've ever had.

He was pretty let down. In fact, he got so troubled with this, that he started doubting himself and blamed himself for (maybe) missing out the words.
Just because of that, he read it again.
He couldn’t find the words even the second time. He didn’t care about how beautiful or ugly the storyline was.
The thing is, there wasn't a single line that had those words.

You see, if we do not find what we want, even if it is not there, we start to blame ourselves. We forget that the problem does not exist!

One word I would give to all of my readers as a takeaway would be :

“We create our own anxiety and problems (well most of them). It’s not the people, not the “external factors”, but our own fear that eats us up from within, just by over-thinking.

The author of that book had morally failed. His only task was to convey a message to all of his readers and also to move their hearts. Kly, as a reader, made decent efforts but failed.

But I guess it is always in the end that we realize if the little things (in this case, the name of the book) are important in building up to the finale or not.

Isn't that why completing a book equals completing a short journey?

We may not always get what we want. We may have to settle with whatever we have.

You know what I’d say in the end. This wasn’t gonna be a happy blog. It never will be. It will always be a thing with which you can easily relate to and probably be glad. But I won’t ever sugarcoat the truth. It deserves to be exhibited as is.

The author of the book had failed. I sure hope I didn't, for this blog.

Solidarity or Solitary?

on the 10th day, you do look back,  and you see traces of your steps following you on that same muddy trail, and you have returned to that place, you aren't shocked seeing them, thinking they are not yours, you see your footprint, carved in the mud, its of a shoe, and you are wearing flip-flops now. you look down at your feet, knowing you have fresh footprints you are about to leave ahead, which will not match the previous ones, and you think, anyone else who witnesses these two sets of footprints, if they get as far in the mud as yourself, will not know they are the same person's. you realise nobody will know, nobody will know of those 10 days, but you do not stop realising there,  you go further to think that nobody might even care to differentiate. where you stand now, you see you are not far from that cliff, which you had seen 10 days before,  you are exactly where you left your journey, you are exactly where you turned back. somehow this time, you aren't as prepared...

On the Door

everyday at half past 4 i keep my ears on the door. trying to wonder what your footsteps would have sounded like, trying to figure out was it my fault some night? everyday at half past 4 i keep my ears on the door. I often wonder why you walked out that night, Although i haven’t seen you ever, You leaving, surely does click my memory.   my mother has often talked about you, but only unintentionally. every time she is reminded of some hilarious memories of both of you, the smile on her face is drawn carefully,   and is even fragile, which fades away, because you walked out one night.   Father, I wanted to tell you something, I wanted to tell you that i realised something great today. That is, even if you don’t know a person, or haven’t met them ever, that person can be remembered.   In fact you can even be missed.   my mother had told me that you had left early in the morning,   around four, ...

Most Weapons Made Are Never Used

Looking at the hue in the sky, observing the tranquility it has to offer, sometimes one can wonder, were the skies always so serene? has there always been existence, of opportunities that convey, simple leisure to whirl up our imagination, to see what figures we create out of nothing? or has the world been taut between endless wars, wars that don't allow much comfort, that we may look up and appreciate the variety of hues. a tendentious reading of history, has shown how wars have been recurrent, and how weapons were forged accordingly. what a writer's mind might wander into, is the inevitable process of thinking about the weapons that were forged. what you observe in the museums, and oftentimes, in contemporary news, is how lethal weapons are designed, but are barely used, and oftentimes never used up to their full potential. hoping to fathom what their true abilities might be, a weakening kick to the senses make us grave, because some of those might not see the daylight.  it t...
